I received my whooping cough vaccine a couple of weeks ago. It is recommended that every pregnant woman receive this vaccine in their 3rd trimester. The mother will create antibodies that will be passed along to the baby to protect against whooping cough until the baby is old enough to receive their own vaccines.
Whooping cough can be fatal to babies.
It is recommended by the CDC that any adults who will be coming into contact with the baby also receive a whooping cough vaccine. Chris wasn't sure when his last vaccine was, so he got another one last week.
If you plan to be around the baby, please be sure to be up-to-date on your vaccines. This is very, very important.
