Baby Humphreys Amazon Registry
Here is some background on the some of the items we registered for and recommendations on where to purchase them. This does not include everything on our registry, but it will give you a good idea of what we were thinking at the time.
Please include gift receipts when possible.
We are not planning on buying a larger car to accommodate more stuff. A station wagon should work just fine. We don't believe that bigger is always better (just look at our dogs). That may change in the future, but that's how we'd like to plan things right now. That said, we wanted a car seat and stroller that was lightweight and didn't take up a lot of room. The ability to use the car seat in a rental car and be easy to maneuver in and out of cars and airplanes was important to us.

This baby carrier will be a nice alternative to pulling out the stroller every time I (or the dogs) want to go for a walk. This particular model is more expensive than the other brands, but it distributes the weight of the baby more evenly across the back and shoulders without 900 steps to get it on. Also, some of the other brands can cause hip issues in the babies due to how their weight is supported in the pelvic area.

This kid will be arriving in the middle of the summer. It will be hot, so please keep that in mind when purchasing clothes. Colder weather items should be for at least 6 months old.
Diapers and wipes are always appreciated. We'd like to keep a decent supply in the house, but we do not plan on turning any of the rooms into a storage locker. With Amazon Prime, Google Express, and regular trips to the store, we can order these items as needed. We will not be registering for these items.

Stores
Amazon.com
We started a baby registry primarily through Amazon. They have a good selection of items at the most reasonable price. If you purchase an item that is on the Amazon registry at another store, please be sure to mark it as purchased on Amazon. Instructions on how to do that at the end.BuyBuyBaby
If you would like to purchase items at a brick and mortar store, this is a great place to do it. They are owned by Bed, Bath, and Beyond, so the 20% off coupons work there. Be sure to read the fine print for exceptions.
Others (Target, Pottery Barn, Babies R Us, etc.)
If you prefer to purchase items at other stores, that is fine too. For generic items that we will need a lot of (diapers, wipes, onesies, burp cloths), we welcome the variety.
The big stuff
Car seat and stroller
The car seat and base are purchased as one at BuyBuyBaby. I believe you have to purchase them separately at Amazon. Please double check.
We chose this car seat because it is the most appropriate model for the stroller we chose (more on that below). It also can be installed without the base using a European belt path. This means the shoulder strap of the seat belt wraps around the back of the car seat adding more support. This makes it easy for travel in rental cars, taxis, and Ubers, if needed.
We'll keep the base in our car for easy ins and outs, but we won't travel with it.

Stroller - Babyhome Emotion in Cloud
This is a lightweight stroller that folds easily. The fabric is nice and durable. It also be removed and washed. This stroller can accommodate certain car seats with an attachment (see above), and it can be used from birth up to 55 lbs. Fingers crossed that we don't have to buy more than one stroller for a while.
This stroller is only available on Amazon.

The attachments for the car seat are sold separately.
Also, this stroller can be folded into a travel bag that can be worn as a backpack. The travel bag is sold separately.
Stuff for the House and Parents
Fisher Price Rock 'n Play
We are not buying a crib just yet. They're big and bulky, and we won't be putting the kid in it for a couple of months. Instead, we will use the Fisher Price Rock 'n Play. It's lightweight and portable (see a trend here?), which means it can be moved from room to room as needed. It also can accommodate an incline if the kid needs to sit up due to acid reflux.
We'll have to keep Roman out of it somehow. I'm sure he'll want one for himself.

The Baby K'tan - Large, Heather Grey
This baby carrier will be a nice alternative to pulling out the stroller every time I (or the dogs) want to go for a walk. This particular model is more expensive than the other brands, but it distributes the weight of the baby more evenly across the back and shoulders without 900 steps to get it on. Baby Brezza Bottle Sterilizer
Some friends of mine run the dishwasher each night to sterilize their bottles. That seems like a lot of time, energy, and water for some bottles. This countertop model will sterilize and dry the bottles in 45 minutes. It also uses a smaller amount of water.

Diaper Dekor Diaper Pail Plus in Gray
We smell enough poop picking up after the dogs. If we can limit the amount of smell from the kid's diapers, that would be great. The Diaper Dekor Diaper Pail will help with that.
Apparently there is no perfect diaper pail as all the models get mixed reviews. But this one seems to be pretty sturdy, and if all else fails, it can be used as a regular trash can.

Diaper Bag - Diaper Backpack by Hashtag Baby
It was important for me to have a backpack-type diaper back because it will distribute the weight of all the stuff we have to carry across both shoulders, leaving our hands free to do other things. This is a nice, neutral bag that can be worn by mom or dad.
It has lots of pockets and gets good reviews on Amazon. Buy it on Amazon.
Soft Stuff
This kid will be arriving in the middle of the summer. It will be hot, so please keep that in mind when purchasing clothes. Colder weather items should be for at least 6 months old.
We have very little preference in terms of body suits (the term "onesie" is owned by Gerber, but they are the same thing) and clothes. We'd like a variety of short and long sleeved body suits. Some with feet, some without feet. We'd like some that have the "kimono" type of opening to allow for a tender belly button in the first month.
A variety of sizes would be appreciated.
We have almost no preference for burp cloths. We'd like them to be soft, that's about it. Same goes for sleep sacks and swaddle blankets.
You can purchase this stuff anywhere.

As stated above, we won't have a crib for a while, so there is no need for crib bedding.
Boring Stuff
Diapers and wipes are always appreciated. We'd like to keep a decent supply in the house, but we do not plan on turning any of the rooms into a storage locker. With Amazon Prime, Google Express, and regular trips to the store, we can order these items as needed. We will not be registering for these items.
We have no idea if the kid will breastfeed and what types of bottles/nipples/pacifiers it will prefer. If you'd like to buy one or two for us to try, that would be great, but we will not be registering for specific brands or types. We'll be using the "guess and test" method until a preference emerges.
We'll need a baby medical kit and a supply of baby medication to keep on hand. It's not nearly as fun as buying clothes or toy but still necessary.
Will this kid have sensitive skin? Will this kid be allergic to perfumes and dyes? Who knows! We'll keep a couple of small bottles of different brands of baby shampoo/soap/lotion on hand to try out. I'd rather not buy a giant bottle of anything until I know that there won't be any allergic reactions.

Technical Considerations
Most of the items on our registry will be listed with Amazon for convenience. If you find that you'd rather purchase an item at a brick and mortar store or found a better price somewhere else, that's fine. If you purchase an item listed on our Amazon registry at another store, you can mark the item purchased on Amazon. That way someone else doesn't go out and buy the same thing. I stole a screen shot from another website showing how to do this. Ignore the fact that it starts with step #3. Steps #1 and #2 were not important.
